Phrasal verbs – come

phrasal verbs with come include come between, come across, come up with, come through, come into, come up
come up with means invent 
example: I will have to come up with a plan. 
come up means appear or occur
example: Something has come up and I can't make it today.
come across means find by chance 
example We came across Monica in the post office. 
second meaning give certain impression 
example: I don't know Emily but she comes across as an intelligent girl.
come between means to cause problems between two people
example: Don't let one little quarrel come between you.
come into means to inherit something 
example: She came into a bit of money when her grandfather died.
come through meanings and examples
1. receive
example: Have the test results come through yet?
2. show an emotion 
example: His nervousness came through as he spoke
3. succeed
example: He is a great leader who always comes through under pressure.
