Phrasal verbs – set

set off means to start a journey. Example: What time do we set off tomorrow?
set something off to cause a device to explode or a signal to start. Example: I accidentally set the alarm off.
set out means to start a journey
Example: They set out for London early the following day. 
second meaning to display, arrange
Example: We'll need to set out some chairs for the meeting.
third meaning: present, specify
Example: Your contract sets out the terms and conditions of your employment.
forth meaning to begin a task with a particular aim
Example: She set out to become chief executive.
set back means hinder, delay. Example: The bad weather set back the project by several days.
second meaning is to cost a certain sum. Example: 2. That car must have set him back £20, 000.
third meaning is to schedule for later. Example: We can set the appointment back a few days if you can't make it tomorrow.
set up means to start a business
Example: The company was set up in 1999. second meaning is to organise or plan. Example: I’ll set up a meeting for Thursday.
third meaning is to make something ready for use. Example: Will you be able to set up my PC?
forth meaning is to incriminate falsely Example: She claims she’s
 innocent and someone set her up.
set apart means to distinguish or make different. Example: Her natural athleticism sets her apart from other players. Second meaning is to reserve or put aside. Example: Two rooms were set apart for use as libraries.
